Kristen Jaymes Stewart popularly known as Kristen Stewart is an American actress. She became popular after playing the role of ‘Bella Swan’ in movies series of ‘The Twilight Saga’. She is the daughter of American origin father Mr. John Stewart and Australian origin mother Jules Mann-Stewart. Her father is a stage manager and work for FOX (an American television Network) as a television producer and her mother is a script supervisor. She is the only sister of two brothers, Cameron Stewart and adoptive brother Taylor. Kristen was born on 9th April, 1990 in Los Angeles, California. She studied in a school in Los-Angeles up to seventh grade and then passed high school by correspondence.

Kristen’s acting career began at the age of eight when she played a silent role of a little girl in the movie ‘The Thirteen Years’. Then she played another very small role of the ring tossing girl in movie ‘The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas’. ‘The Safety of Objects’ was the movie in which she played the first major role of her career; she played the role of Tomboy girl. She was nominated for the ‘Young Artist Award’ for her work in the Hollywood movie ‘Panic Room’; she played the role of a girl suffering from Hypoglycemia. Kristen was able to gain the attention of Hollywood for her such a pleasing work in the movie. After that she appeared as Kristen Tilson in psychological Hollywood thriller movie ‘Cold Creek Manor’. This movie failed to attract the viewers but she was nominated again for ‘The Young Artist Award’ for her performance.

Kristen played her first starring role in the children action comedy movie ‘Catch That Kid’ in year 2004. Catch That Kid was the remake of Danish blockbuster movie Klatretosen. In this movie Kristen played the role of a super smart girl who robbed a bank with two of her friends in hope of paying for the life saving costlier surgery of her father. Kristen’s work along with that of Max Thieriot and Corbin Bleu in the movie was very much appreciated by the viewers. In the same year she worked in an independent movie ‘Speak’ based on Laurie Halse Anderson’s Novel ‘Speak’. Kristen played the role of Melinda Sordino a high school freshman girl who stopped talking after being raped by the upperclassman. Stewart was highly praised for the role she played in the movie.

In same year she appeared in the role of teenage girl Lila in movie Undertow and was nominated for ‘The Young Artist Awards’ for her performance in movie.

In 2005 Kristen played immobilized character of Lisa who is an elder sister of two little brothers in the movie ‘Zathura’. This role didn’t help her to gain viewers tension. She was criticized most for playing such an immobilized character. In same year she played the role of ‘Maya Osbourne’ in move ‘Fierced People’.

With no movie release of Kristen in 2006, she played the lead role of Jess Solomon in horror movie ‘The Messenger’ released in February 2007. She played the role of Lucky Hardwicke in movie ‘The Land of Women’ which was released in April 2007 in America after being screened at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2006. In year 2007 she also appeared as Georgia in independent movie ‘The Cake Eaters’ and as Tracy Tatro in movie ‘Into The Wild’. She also worked in a short film the ‘Cutlass’ as Young Robin.

In year 2008 she appeared in the science fiction film ‘Jumper’ based on the novel ‘Jumper’ of Steven Gould. She played lead role of Zoe in movie ‘What Just Happened’ released in October 2008. Success graph of Kristen Stewart touched the new heights after the release of first movie of the Twilight series. Kristen Stewart played a role of Bella Swan in Romantic Horror movie ‘Twilight’ released on November 2008. Its story is based on how the teenage girl Bella Swan developed the relation with vampire Edward Cullen.
For her such a great performance in twilight Stewart was nominated for eight different categories of awards out of which she bagged the five. She was nominated in MTV Awards for the category ‘Best Female Performance’ and ‘Best Kiss’ in Twilight and won the both. Nominated in Teen Choice Awards for categories ‘Choice Movie Actress Drama’ and ‘Choice Movie Liplock’ for Twilight and grabbed the both. Also nominated for Scream Awards her performance in Twilight in categories ‘Best Fantasy Actress’ and ‘Best Ensemble Cast’ but only bagged the ‘Best Fantasy Actress’ award. She shared the ‘People Choice Award’ in category ‘Favourite on Screen Team’ with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner for Twilight 2008 and got nominated for category ‘Favourite Movie Actress’.

After the success of Twilight 2008 Kristen reappeared in its sequel ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ and ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ and played the same role of Bella Swan.

She got the BAFTA’s The Rising Star Award for movie The Twilight Saga: New Moon in 2009. For her work in The Twilight Saga: New Moon she also got MTV Movie Awards in category ‘Best Female Performance’ and ‘Best Kiss’ and ‘Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards’ for the category ‘Cutest Couple’ which she shared with Taylor Lautner.

The third movie of the Twilight series ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ released in June 2010 also bagged awards for Kristen. Kristen got ‘People’s Choice award’ in ‘Favourite Movie Actress’ category. She shared the ‘People’s Choice Awards’ for category ‘Favourite On-Screen-Team’ with her co-stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson.

Stewart also worked in movies other than Twilight series in 2009-10. She appeared as Emily Em Lewin in comedy movie Adventureland released in April, 2009. This movie was nominated for ‘Gotham Awards’ for ‘Best Ensemble Cast’ category. She also appeared in movie directed by Floria Sigismondi ‘The Runaways’ where she played the role of Joan Jett.. ‘The Yellow Handkerchief’ was an independent movie in which Kristen played the role of Martine. This film was premiered at the Sundance Film Festivals in 2010 and was very limited released.

At present Kristen is working for Twilight sequels upcoming movies The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part-1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part-2. Apart from Twilight sequels Kristen is working for movie based on Jack Kerouac’ Novel ‘One The Road’.
